Mekka Don has accomplished feats that would take most people a lifetime to achieve. He is a Hip-Hop artist and songwriter who is also a lawyer, author, and a model. In 2007 he left an associate position at a top 10 law firm in New York to pursue his true passion - Hip-Hop.

In only a few years of his pursuit of a career in Hip-Hop, Mekka Don has already been featured in a national ad campaign for Jeep Wranger, licensed his music to ESPN, made Cornerstone's Top 10 (#6) list for "Dear Obama", hit #2 on the RapAttackLives College Radio Charts (U Know Mekka Don), was the #3 most added artist on MySpace's Record Breakers Charts, released a mixtape with DJ Mick Boogie (Law and Order), and been featured in The Daily News, XXL Magazine, ESPN, HipHopDX Next, and the American Bar Association Journal. Mekka Don has become most notable for the release of an album with DJ Mick Boogie on January 13th, 2009 entitled "The All Eyes On Me EP." The album was written through the eyes of Barack Obama and showcased the difficulties he will face as President of the United States. The album received critical acclaim with URB.com calling it "a beautiful stage show." The Source Magazine called the album, "Your Inauguration Day Soundtrack." The New York Daily News featured Mekka Don and the album in a full page story and concluded that Mekka Don is "bringing change to rap." Mekka Don's lead single from the EP was played on several radio stations including Hot 97 in New York.
Subsequently, Mekka Don has released a few singles through iTunes, including two songs that were featured on ESPN Networks for the entire 2010-2011 college football season.
Recently, Mekka Don formed a songwriting team with partner Karen Thornton, entitled the "Writer's Block", which writes music for artists and TV/Film. They have licensed their music to several major networks.
In addition to music, Mekka Don has partnered with several companies as an endorser, model, or host and currently has major networks interested in a reality show surrounding his life. Prominent Entertainment Attorney and Publisher of The Source Magazine, L. Londell McMillan, believes Mekka Don is the "next big thing in entertainment."
Mekka Don lives in New York City, but is originally from Columbus, OH. He has a Bachelors in Political Science from The Ohio State University, where he was a member of the varsity football team and Homecoming Court. He received his law degree from New York University School of Law in 2006, where he was a member of NYU's Mock Trial Team. In 2004, he self-published a novel entitled, "Grime and Glory," which is available online.
